Marklin held a press conference this morning to introduce their new items for 2015 including LGB.

I like the Alpine Classic stuff too.

A reissue of the WP&Y carriages. You would think they would come with a different car name from the Bachmann versions - or even do their 'stick on label' trick.

I don't know much about the WP&Y passenger cars but looking at the wiki there were sure enough other passenger car names to chose from rather than repeat what had already been done.

Looks like LGB is going to move to the Marklin central station for DCC, and away from the MTS system.

I wonder if that set will get imported?

The Märklin Central Station CS2 shows up in the 2014 Marklin catalogue download from the Marklin US website so I assume it will be available in the USat some point.

Technically there shouldn't be much of an issue since the main AC power supply is a separate unit.
Price however might be an issue - as well as voltage and current output.
For any larger G scale layout a booster or two are a must.

The central station seemed like it was a good value as part of Marklin's starter sets (I have Marklin HO too.)

Really, these companies are fools not to try to get new customers committed to their control equipment. Right now, an LGB starter set buyer is forced to go with an aftermarket DCC - and once they go, there is no reason to come back.

I have the MTS I and MTS IIP for checking out repairs I do.
My main system is a Zimo and after using the Zimo I would never suggest MTS to anyone.
Only good thing about MTS was the simple ease of use of the mouse, complete no brainer.
