It was a very windy day at Zube on Saturday. It was also very hot. I had my Big Boy that had been under repair for a coup;e of things running very well I think. Phil from the Metroplex are was there with his Allegeny,Caleb his 9449 and variuos other engine who dared to get on track with the wind blowin 90 to nothin. Cars were being blown off track and if you notice on the video while I am running my new acquisition the Aster C-11 , of of the heavyweights blows over just as the little engine gets to it.  No harm done, she just got right back up an ran like she was suppose to.
Otheres can add their experience at todays steamup.
P.S. Ed Hume and his Heisler

Great shots of some heavy iron in the rails, Daylight, H-8 & Big Boy... wow.

I agree there Mr. Grunge. Nothing like Heavy Iron[/b]. A great job has been done on the lay out too. I hope to have time to run out there soon.

My apologize for misspelling Houston. I thought I had it corrected. I was hot and tired when I posted the thread.
And yes the guys really have the track in great shape as you can tell from the way the Alegeny, BB, and heavys were running around the track.

Art knows how to make that Big Boy roll.

Here are some other pics I took at the event. It was actually a beautiful day except for the wind. Here in Texas Memorial Day is traditionally the unofficial start of summer so hot is the norm. The wind actually has a cooling effect and humidity was low so it was a nice weekend. Just in the afternoon the wind picks up to the point that it would sometimes blow a car over. Caleb had a problem with the wheel set on one of his daylight cars which caused it to derail. We fixed it later on but he had to run his daylight short of the three unit diner.
