Dear All

We have just completed the first 160 meter of track, and today we tested it with the small Aster Mugul.
On youtube you can see a film with a camera behind the engine. Scalespeed is about 140 km/h so the distance is done in just about
2 mins.

The track can still be seen on: http://www.havebane.dk/
Help for those who cant read danish: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=www.havebane.dk&hl=da&ie=UTF-8&sl=da&tl=en

All coments or questions are wellcome :)

We still need to make another 150 meters of track and hope we will be done before Christmas.

Best Regards

Hi David,
Congratulations on the new track!

I'm curious, how did you mount the camera? It provides a nice angle, like someone standing on the end platform of a passenger car.

For future reference, you can add a Youtube  video directly into your posting:

Just cut and paste the "embed" URL from the Youtube page (make sure you get the entire thing: it's quite long). It will not show up in the preview but it will be there once you submit the post.

Absolutely wonderful, David. But you owe me for an hour of time I should have been working and billing clients! The layout is gorgeous and it appears to have taken quite a bit of labor to complete. As a descendant of Norwegians, it's fun to see the work of model railroaders in the Nordic countries.

David: Very nice job on the track. And what a beautiful setting. You are going to have many happy times with friends and neighbors over running steam on your pike.

Can I come for a visit??

Take care, Bob

Dear all

Thanks for your positive comments.

David: I would like to post a photo of the camera setup, but Im unfamiliar with the setting of this forum
Anyway It was just made 5 min. before the testrun. We used a cylinder behind the camera with 300 g of lead to ensure that the wagon didnt tilt. About the embedded youtube-code. I didn’t know that it was so easy! Thanks a lot!

Bob (and others): You are all most welcome to come and use the track. I will inform you when the layout is done. We plan to have an opening in April 2009.

Regards

David

Hi David, fancy seeing you here

Brilliant job, and video, smooth running. It's nice to see the results of all the hard work, I can't wait for the "test day", although I had better not bring my Regner "Lumber Jack", it would take 10 minutes or more to get around your track !!!!

To Bob ( and anyone else from MLS)
You'd be very welcome to visit here too, we are situated approx 1½ hours drive from Davids, and max. 2 hours from 4 other garden railways in Jutland.

Boy,
You guys are giving me wanderlust!

We visited DK in 1982-1983 and had a wonderful time.
We only got as far north as legoland, though.
We had two wonderful(of many nice) things happen to us on your west coast:
1) windmills
2) homemade, hot from the waffle iron, ice cream waffles!

Both would be worth the trip, and I could sweeten a trip even more with some live steam out the hotel window!

Great layout and videos.
Hard to imagine an expansion!

Thanks for posting.
