I get my yearly profit sharing check middle of March, looking for my next engine to buy. Looking mostly at Aster gauge one locos, such as the Pannier Tank, LMS/LNWR Jumbo, JNR C12 or C56. I prefer the UK/Euro models. Many of them however take larger curves than my home layout or the local groups portable show layout. But I now the ones listed can manage the curves with no to very little mods. Looking to stay under 3K with shipping to my door. Whats out there, feel free to PM me to discuss what you have. Obviously I cannot do anything spending wise till mid March and it will be based on what I get as that is not known just yet. Mike

Me either…Pannier’s often require some work to tame them and to implement some factory recommended mods…If you’re fine with that, and many are, have at it! And once you’re done with that, you have nice little engine…Mike, I know is aware of all that.

Yes well aware, some need a new crank axle, some in the run do have the crank axle pinned which extends the life of the original crank axle. A good load to pull helps time the speed, which I do have a nice collection of UK freight wagons. I gave my C&S Mogul a good run this afternoon.
