When the %$^#&@ Mockingbird comes back our house and starts blaring its song at 3 am in the tree right above our window

This little begger by waking me night after night has tempted me invest in a nice classic little double-barrel something....
He is staking out his territory. Record his "song" this year and then next year start playing it back on loud speakers at 2:30 AM about 1 week before he usually starts his claim making. See if that will keep him away...
Of course, This means you will have to listen to YOUR recording a week longer and for a 1/2 hour earlier (and longer) than you would have to put up with his song, but you will get to say you drove it away!
Of course, songs change a bit over time and you may have to do a new recording every few years, but in that year you will get to sleep 1/2 hour longer than the years you are making your "claim" for the property against the bird.
How about buying a bird feeder, filling it, then leaving it on the ground where hopefully one of the dozen hungry neighborhoob kitties will get a nice snack.
