Mornin, Ken - Welcome to the forum! I live in east Anglia, BTW.

The item you have there is a radio control servo for use in a train, plane or boat.

You cannot load a photo here unless you are a 1st Class member, and if you are into large scale trains, this is the definitive way to go, with a lot of extras available to help you get on the right tracks.

Best wishes

catfordken,

but you can link to the space, where your photo is.
in the case of your photo, that would look like this:

(img)http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3564/3305619467_634c4aa556.jpg(/img)

just using instead of "(" and ")" the other sort of brakes: "[" and "]".
(i used the round ones to show what to write, without having the program executing the order.)

and there it is:

That looks like one of the motor blocks from the original AristoCraft 1:29? scale 2-4-2 saddle tank locos.
hi Tony, getting confused,r/c or aristocraft motor block,it has loco leaf springs on side, ken
hi tony you mention 2-4-2 is it this one as it has a motor for each axle ken
http://www.girr.org/girr/tips/tips4/rogers_tips.html
problem solved, its a rogers 2-4-2 motor, been to site downloaded the diagram and there it was, many thanks tony and others for your help ken
part number art 29400 motor block

by the fact that this thing got two railroad weels on it, i suspect it to be a motor for a loco too.
That's not a servo. Looks like some kind of motor block. Tony's been around long enough, and has had enough locos apart to recognize it.
