Hi,

I was buying some brake wheels in the UK and the company has gone bust!

So I sent a message or two to Ozark, asking what diameter their brake wheels are as the photo I have attached, which is from their website, hoping that I could ask a friend who is at the NGRS convention to buy me some; that is too late now, alas!

There has been no reply from Ozark whatsoever.

Can anyone assist please? Our respective 'time zones' are a bit out as I am in the UK, and they are on PST (USA)! Otherwise I would ring them.

IF I order some I hope their service is a bit better.

I wonder what's up with Ozark. I ordered some slate car journals a while back -- got three instead of four -- and have emailed twice, politely, to ask for the fourth, and have had no reply.

I always have had trouble emailing ozark. The best thing is to call them. I don't have the number right now, but if you check their site they give a number and best times to call. I always get through and always get great service.

Ridge Road Station carries Ozark parts as well and has the 1:20.3 version item #(1019) in stock. I have a number of those brake wheels and I'm coming up with a 19.8mm (.79 inches) diameter on those. Ozark also makes a 1:24/1:22.5 version item#(38)which appears to be the photo in your post (probably the one Torby has). However Ridge Road doesn't appear to have that one in stock.

A quote from Ozarks web site "April 27 - May 6th We will be shut down during these dates for the convention. That means no Shipping during this time". I also have had better luck calling them than e-mailing.

Hi All,
Thank you for your thoughts, through the kind assistance of Rod Fearnly I have had them bought for me.

He is attending the NGRS convention, and through the speed of the internet, and its connection in his hotel room, he has on my behalf bought some.

A BIG -- 'THANK YOU' -- is due to Rod, and later I will no doubt try to phone Ozark, (there is bound to be other items wanted in due course but hopefully not for a while) though it will be a bit earlier than their suggested time we have an 8 hours time difference between us!

The UK dealers a bit 'iffy', and tend to be expensive, (and some of that is due to HM Government and its tax regimes!) as I have checked them out, though thanks for the suggestion.
