Ger,
Sad news, see 18:06
Thanks Bob, it's been a long time since I was there, but nice to remember those who we have lost, some that I met.
Cheers,

Bob,

You may want to show a picture of the hotel and add that to your stream...

Sam
Sam, I was thinking to add the Hotel, as We know it has also passed away (RIP) But We had some good times there. There will never be a Steamup like Diamondhead was,

Until Bob adds his photos, I attach photos of the last time that I was at Diamondhead in 2005, and how I like to remember a great event.
All the best,

Thanks for Posting Dave, Can I Use Your Pictures? This shows why it took 2hrs to go to the Swap Meet.

Yes, by all means.
The swap meet room did tend to get rather crowded!
Cheers,

Boy howdy, that is exactly the kind of event I was looking for. Steaming trains by the pool! I'll be excited to hear any news of the event restarting, especially since the winter is the only time I can travel. The National Steam up and NGRC happen in the middle of my busiest season.

I know Jason is organizing another event out east for March. I'll have to see if I can swing that this year.
Dave and Sam Here is an update of the Diamondhead RIP List
This is what a Class act The Diamondhead Steamup was this is one of many Lunches over the Years We went to

Bob,

The guys down there-after Jerry bowed out and it clearly was a very tough act to follow-did an excellent job of organizing and making it a fun event again.

We all hope its death is greatly exaggerated since it was such an event over the years…and perhaps Pat and Richie will find another venue—i know they have looked—but. as you pointed out, a lot of good memories regardless.

Sam
I received an email from Pat Darby that DH’s demise maybe premature…We’ll see if the event can rise again..now apparently in the April /May timeframe of this year.

Sam
Lets hope it returns. The years that I attended was a fun time and got to meet a lot of folks. Got to give the Florida LS especially Sal credit for getting me to attend. Later RJD
