Very sad news. I heard about this tragic fire from a good friend who lives in Tehachapi./DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/mls/emoticons/sick.gif

I was just up there after the Big Train Show. The remodeled station was looking really good. I hope they rebuild.

I have never seen the building and I know little about it other than the news report of the catastrophic inferno.

It is indeed a very sad affair, more so for those who live there and those who cherished the building.

As an ex firefighter I am always amazed - even annoyed - at the many historic, beautiful and usually irreplaceable buildings that catch fire whilst undergoing restoration. Does no one ever learn from these mistakes?
