I just finished reading the very informative article about Accucraft’s SP Cab Forward written by Charles and Ryan Bednarik in SIG. I don’t have cab forward and doubt that I ever will but the more you read the more you learn. What is a bull ring made out of graphite Teflon? I know years ago the old timers used to use graphite packing for piston rings.

Thank you,

Reed,
This refers to a piston ringsor rings, made from agraphite loaded PTFE polymer..turned a little over size to provide a outwards seal on the cylinder walls, and split diagonally at the joint to allow fitting,,used instead of the more common 'Orings" Aster has used the type for many years.very suitable for larger models with higher boiler pressures etc.

Taperpin,

Thank you for the explanation on the bull ring. I know some of my 1” and 11/2” scale freinds use Teflon rings but they use O rings inside to push the rings against the cylinder walls.
