After last nights chat with you....we had all kinds of problems in chat.  We kept getting TIMEOUT notices...which here-to-fore did NOTHING.  This time, the TIMEOUTS were correlated with a chat session that locked up.  We had to keep logging off and back on.  You could get into chat without having your name on the Room User list...and when that happened, you didn't see other folks posts.  Really a mess.  With only four of us on (Jim, Greg, me, and DieCustom)...we had a tough time logging out and getting back in and all being able to chat together.

Only one timeout...mine. But...this one blew me off chat. I could see MY posts...but no one else could. I could not get back in. Eventually, I rebooted the computer and rebooted the network equipment and finally got back in. When I got back in...the posts I'd seen earlier that no one else saw we NOT on the chat log. Have NO idea what's happening.
We have not had any problems or time outs in chat since the server was replaced. Ralph in England has reported bandwidth issues that he thinks are related to the new avatar capability of the upgraded chat program. Animated avatars especially seem to make his problem worse. No one else seems to be having bandwidth issues that I know of...but I'd expect that folks on dialup might when animated avatars are being used. It's been stated that turning ON the browser cache should fix that...but we don't have any confirmation of that.

Other than that, chat is working fine as long as you do NOT use the browser that comes with the newer Apple computers. That one seems to have big compatibiliy issues...and those folks now get into chat using Firefox.
