RSS Feed

What is an RSS feed and whats so good about it.

On the old forum I used the Active Topics feature and had it automaticallly update every 15 minutes, showing posts from the last 30 minutes.  I kept the browser on screen with whatever I am working on (Word, V.B., Solitaire, etc.) in the foreground and small enough that the Active Topic page was barely visible to one side.  When I noted the page updated I could view the new posts that I was interested in, maybe check other sites and then go back to what I was doing.  It worked well, but now the new Active Topics page does not automatically update (not that I have noticed, anyway) so I need a new method of monitoring for new postings.

I tend to read missives in almost all the various forums so it would be useless to try to limit it to not monitor just one or two... besides I might miss something good if I did. !
