ive been considering basically mounting a large, cpu intake fan on a boxcar. it is dc with simple red/black wiring.does anyone know if they have enough power to get through wet PA snow?

Do you mean a computer cooling fan? It will not be even close to strong enough.

I'm not sure what would be an ideal fan blade assembly, but for power you'd need something more like a model airplane starter motor and battery.

You need something more robust than a computer fan. Some use an impeller blades from a vacuum cleaner.

My rotary was made in the 1980s and has a home made fan.

You will need a heavy duty fan. My rotary worked very well in Denver with dry powder snow. It doesn't work too well in the wet cement we now get in northern Virginia.
