Hi there:

Yes, the 2816 is the Canadian Pacific Hudson that I wanted Accucraft to build. The 2816 is magnificient. A true classic like the NYC Hudsons. The later semi-steamlined Royal Hudson just doesn't do it for me. Too bad that the Royal couple had not visited us a few years earlier prior to the semi-streamlining of the Hudsons. That semi-streamlined recessed headlamp: YUCK !

What is the web address for the You Tube 2816 video ?

Thank you
Norman

Couple of nice little shots there of the SP&S Northern #700 up by Wishram as well as the Daylight GS4 leaving Portland Union Station!!!!!

Happy days.....

BTW - for anyone who wants to know - the original feepage is from the double DVD by Rail Innovations - 'CPR 2816 Part 1 - the Restoration and Testing' and 'CPR2816 Part 2 - The inaugural run - Vancouver to Galkgary'. The boiler was rebuilt by the workshops of the PRPA in Brooklyn Yard, Portland OR, and the wheels were refurbished by another bunch of specialists iin Tennessee.

Art - this is the six-DVD economy set I had bought for me as a surprise birthday gift a couple of years back - Costco Portland did a special deal on it! It's pretty good, especially the Mt Rainier section where a guy brings his loco hundreds of miles to attend the festival.

There's lots of movie of the Daylight in all-black war-baby scheme as well.

You think that's nice? A mate of mine has a filmed a fair few hours of 70mm film of 2816 and is producing an IMAX movie with the working title of Rocky Mountain Express. It may come out next winter but these things are VERY expensive to make and times are tough as you all know. The footage I have seen over the last two years is mind-blowing and in another category to any steam film I have seen over the last half century or so. When it does come out it will be worth the wait, believe me. It will also be available as a DVD along with a lot of raw un-used footage that never made it to the feature.

Really looking forward to seeing that. I was lucky enough to have the chance to see a bit of track where the RM had gone by about three minutes ealier, and would have seen it if my beloved had not needed a nature stop, but that, and Union Station Vancouver is as near as I've ever been to the real thing.

Best
