RE: danger

I had some bubble wrap covered with a towel for doing some model building. I usually keep my Loctite in a empty cottage cheese container. While tightening the lid on the loctite, the bottle fell onto the towel and spilled some Loctite. It soaked through to the bubblewrap...toxic vapor arose from the bubblewrap. I just threw everything out the back door and then threw water on it. The Loctite ate through the bubblewrap.

Which Loctite?
Assuming it was one of the threadlocker compounds (Loctite 220 eg..) I'd guess the either methacrylate or the solvent (most likely MEK or acetone) reacted with the PVA / PVC in the bubble wrap to release either vinyl chloride or vinyl acetete. Both nasty buggers.. Good to hear you ventilated the place.

It was Loctite Super Glue, Easy Brush, that I bought at my local lumber yard. It small writing on the back of the bottle, "contains cyanocrylate". Now I know why I switched from HO gauge!!!!
