When did the size limit for picture posting becaome 60KB?

Invalid file type or file exceeds max size(60kb)

I tried to post a picture in the Public forum and got the above message. that seems to me a very small picture.

And how do I get a picture that small and still be able to see it?

Hi Cliff,

It didn't; there is a size of 60 KB for instant posting, at the bottom opf the editor, and I think that is whatb you are looking at. That came with the new format. .

However the original method with 'img' tags (front & rear) is still there but you do have to post the photo first (with a 640 pixel width limit) into your 1st class web space as before.

You ask about 60KB being a small picture, yes it can be BUT there is a 9for .jpg files), 'compression programs that reduce the pixel count.

I have no connection with JASC software but I use their Paint Shop Pro program, and there is a jpg compressor with both a preview and a variable range in there that will cut down the size quite a lot. Yes you will lose some clarity, that is the usual trade off, but it will therefore allow a quite large picture and allow you to stay within the 60KB limit on instant posting size.
