Good Afternoon,
I have always been told that the "hottest" solvent has to go on first ie. acrylic over oil over lacquer, independent of the substrate. Get it out of order and the hot solvent will bubble the paint it is over. I know this from personal experience. A friend of mine carves totem poles and seals them with linseed oil then paints them with artist acrylics after the oil has cured.
