The forum went down about 9:00 PM yesterday during the monitoring for Active Topics every 15 minutes.  I then watched for when it might come back.  I read other web site forums as I usually do and kept checking for MLS to come back.  I figured it was the planned shutdown and replacement of the software.  I managed to screwup the tabs in IE7 and tried to re-open  the site using the saved link.  Tried it for 3 hours.  Then, just because I am curious, I tried to access the root page of MLS and got in and see that there are presently 34 guests and a couple of members already on-line.  Hmmmm... well, I am okay now as I can reset my saved link, but what about all those folk that are not at all cornphewter savvy and are still attempting to access the forums via a direct link to them?  Is there something that could be put in place to recognise the old addresses and re-direct the people to the new places?  (Just thinkin' of my fellow MLS'ers the may be still sitting there wondering when the system will be back.)

Did I miss an announcement somewhere? Do I understand correctly that all the old posts have now disappeared into a vault somewhere? All those ongoing conversations we were having are now irretrievably interrupted or lost? All those threads we consult for reference purposes, photographs of problems solved, etc. are now hidden away?

Change is certainly going to upset people, and I think I'm upset. Certainly, looking at the forums and seeing a lot of zeroes is very disconcerting.

P.S. The preview function is broken: it points to a void javascript routine.

P.P.S. The submit function doesn't appear to work, either (in the full editing reply form). If you can read this, then the quick reply does work.

I'm working on putting in redirects to the new pages.  I setup redirects on the 10 most popular entrance pages on the site.  Many of them are already up and running.

Thanks for the reply, Shad. Don't worry, you'll be able to get some sleep in a couple of weeks... well, maybe a month... well, at least my the middle of March... maybe.

Oh, I had no problem using the full topic entry form (starting a new topic) and no problem with the quick reply form.

 It's helpful to know which operating system and browser you're using when you get these types of errors.

I have the same problems as Vance and use Opera.
Before this update, the only Javascript thing that did not work was the close button on "Printer Friendly" pages.
Now, at least 4 things are different

Add Reply does not have the editng menu AT ALL that Firefox shows.
Preview does not work
Submit does not work
Smiley do not add

Same problems as Vance: Edit, (Edit) Preview and (Edit) Submit don't work.

Time change to Pacific Time Zone didn't correct time.
