Mr. B.J. Cott, owner and general manager for the Lost Hollow Railway, announces that the Katy Texas branch of the Lost Hollow Railway is no more.  The last revenue train, a passenger train, was run January 1, '08 and today the work crew removed the buildings, track and roadbed.

Please enjoy this video of the better days on the LHR:

The reality: my assignment here in the Houston area has come to an end and we're expecting to move in the next few months.   I learned a lot on my first garden railroad and will put the learnings to good use on the next version of the Lost Hollow.  I've captured a few of the learnings in this thread:

Take care,
Barry

It is always sad when one of our garden railroads comes to an end. Good luck on your next large-scale project.

Hope that the RR will  arise again in a new location.  I've been there and done that also.  Never a fun time to take down but then a new adventure is lurking ahead and new challenges to hurdle.  Oh what fun  it is then.:)  Later RJD
