Don't know about the rest of you, but after taking a look at the proffered PDF document I'm not so sure that I've got all that much confidence in it being a genuine press release document created by LGB of America.

The things that make me question it.[*]The over-all appearance isn't sharp & crisp, and the diagonal artifact intersecting the LGB in the header. Sure doesn't look like something that any company would release for distribution.[*]I haven't encountered many, if any, press releases that didn't have a date of release included.[*]There isn't any hand written signature.[*]Then in examining the document properties via Adobe Acrobat, I find the following interesting.[*]The file name is "2008_05_01_LGBLetter1.pdf", yet the file creation date is "5/2/2008 7:53:19 AM"[*]The Title, Author, & Subject fields are all blank.[*]The whole document is an image not text imported from a word-processing application. Which tends to point to a scanned document.[*]Then there is no security imposed against document modification, and that you just don't normally find on official company documents.

While all of my above mentioned perceived discrepancies regarding the PDF document, may only point to the fact that the PDF document is merely a scanned copy of an official LGB of America hard copy document. The lack of a date and hand written signature on the original still makes it suspect to me. Oh, one other thing, in looking at the LGBoA web site there isn't any corroborating release to be found, although that may only be a result of the time lag in updating the web site.

Steve, the copy on Largescalemad is indeed a scanned document, poorly at that, theres a hard copy PDF on the LSC site, I didnt want to reference LargeScaleCentral or directly list the document listed their, which is actually homepaged right here on MLS, because I wanted to avoid some of the sticky issues that have come up in the past between the two sites, using the offshore LSM site I felt avoided that, but check out LSC, look at that PDF and then decide if you think its real, the original PDF supposedly came from the LSOL site but as I'm not a member there, I cannot verify.

Don't feel bad, it seems Marklin isn't making friends with their own distributors in the U.S. either. Check out this website, note you have to scroll down and look along the right hand column until you see the "letter from Marklin text". Look at what the distributor has added in red!!

I see they also claim that they will soon be carrying LGB, though I suspect this is wishful thinking on their part as well.

Hehehe...that's cute regarding the post reply #13 /DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/mls/emoticons/hehe.gif:D

Regarding the version of the PDF that I was referring to, it was the one hosted here on MLS. It was created on a MAC running OS-X v10.4.10, using the Quartz PDFContext.

Roco USA/Macro Mundo is just a dealer, and have lost other makes (i.e., Roco) in the past. The new distributor is WM Walthers, this was released back at the first of the year.

But, they are one of the few hobbyshops to live through the direct hit of a DC-8!

Note they have a Roco website addy, but no Roco sales, that went to Reynaulds/Roman, but that fight has been going on for years now, but wait and see on pricing and in stock items.

Why I buy my Roco and other H0/H0e stuff from indy importer TEE-USA/Eurolokshop!

If they have the resources, anything is possible. Depends how much Kingsbridge asks for. They could just ask for the Moon, but if they ask for Mars as well....
