Hi all,
I am currently building a G gauge railway in my back garden/yard, building on raised beds made with composite cladded sleepers. I am English, living in Swindon, Wilts. 72 divorced and a bit of a petrol head, but I currently drive a Mercedes EQB electric SUV.

Hello Diane,
Nice to see someone of your age starting to build a railway, where so many are thinking about stopping!
Last year you said that you were looking at "a UK/European NG free style plan".
Is that what you are building, and if so what kind of locos and rolling stock are you using?
Also, what track, and how are you planning on laying it for your railway.
All the best,
David Leech, Canada
p.s. Living in Swindon, shouldn't you be building GWR!!!!

Hello Diane,
A little off-topic, but I also enjoyed your Swindon Mod rail 2024 and your use of The Shadows Greatest Hits.
I often have one of their albums playing in my workshop while I work.

I have had to shut down and restart my pc for some reason the forum would not allow me to enter any text.
Right, let's answer your questions.
Yes I am building a freelance European NG based layout using mainly LGB stock I have3 Stainz locos, a Kof, Small 0-6-0 diesel and a larger black 0-4-0 tank loco also the track cleaning loco 5 of the locos are DCC/MTS fitted the rest are analogue DC I have the parts on order to covert one of the Stainz locos to radio control battery power,I have a wide mix of LGB rolling stock.
I am using LGB track laid on a gravel sub-base on raised beds.
