Art, nice pics and video. Being the old 'bean counter' that I am, the first thing I started thinking about when Chuck starting talking about what he had done so far was how much did it cost.
So first he said he had delivered 52yards of dirt. At around $25 a yard that is $1,300. Then he said he had delivered 5 loads of retaining wall blocks at 144 blocks a load. That's 720 blocks at around $5 each or $3,600. He already has a lot of the track he needs and his garage was full of bridges so I counted the switches. The plan takes around12 at $100 each more or less. So now we are talking $5,000 and not a stitch of track has been laid so far.

Even more impressive, Chuck said he wheelbarrowed all that dirt in there himself and laid those 700+ blocks himself. That is a lot of work even for Chuck. I am anxious to see how all this develops. Should be interesting. The plan calls for a river, so I assume there will eventually be running water too. Someone needs to give Chuck some ideas on how to lay a foundation for his track and anchor it in place. I have seen so many time where a person goes to all this trouble and work and then just slaps the track down and tries to run on it. It never works. I believe we were seeing some of that last Sunday.

He will get there eventually. I think he just wanted to get a couple of loops down for the meeting.
He is gonna have to secure the track better than it was this weekend. Attaching it to pieces of wood spaced like you havbe yours would be the eay to do it and particurly the amt of track he will eventually have laid.
Thanks for the comment of the pics. Ground was sure wet after the big rain we had on Sat.
See you tommorow for Steamin at Steve's
