Hi Fingers,


That is a nice job you have made of the cab; congratulations, and I echo Placita Steams comments re another mason being built

There may need to be some minor adjustments of the slot for the reversing rod and possibly the slot that will be hidden by the firebox at the bottom of the cab front if I remember correctly.

Are you adding the mock iron sheet on the front, and its twin on the inside?

I added some extra trim around the windows and bottom panels, the photos in the Mason locomotives book shows it quite well. Don't add the bolts though the held the front/back to the sides as they will get in the way of the decals - that is from experience.

One thing I did on that chassis was to countersink all the screw holes and use flat head screws. It made more room for the crank pin retaining nuts on the back of the of the wheels. Depending on what you are using for wheels and crank pins, that may not matter. Glad to see you are making progress.
