Hey guys!
Well, my wife got her birthday present from me today.

She got to be the fireman for a half an hour and engineer for a half an hour on the Pere Marquette 1225 Berkshire (a.k.a. Polar Express loco).

It's funny to see some of the responses from people who are surprized by her passion and knowledge of steamers. I gave her this present because it's an opportunity to operate one of the biggest and most powerful steamers still running.
To say she had a blast would be an understatement and a half.

WOW! What a neat present and neat lady. As an old HOer use to say "You Foun Gold" with her. That was fantastic.

Where are they running #1225 and for how far. Looks like a short streach of track. Is she under cover or left out in the open?

Yes, she's a keeper!:D

Noel: They keep it at Owosso, MI I believe in a building. They were running it on thier track inside thier property.

Brian,Now that You are so Close come over to Canterberry Tomorrow (In Lk.ORION)and Run Live steam With Us.
Noel,1225 goes on a Fall color Runns for a 4 1/2 hr ride each way.and in The Christmas season it has 1hr Pollar Express Runs.
