Mikes new custom GP9u low nose

Got my custom USA trains GP7u back from the custom builder today, extended range fuel tank, torpedo tubes on the roof, low nose, dual horns ect. I got the working strobe installed on the roof tonight and took some pics, managed to catch the strobe flash in one of the pics. Strobe is an LED circuit that installed in the lense from a USA trains SD40 with a custom silver base. The effect is very good with a nice crisp xenon like flash and the little LED inside the lense is much like the flash tube inside the real strobe light. Way to cold to run trains outdoors today, so the shelf in the kitchen had to do for todays pics. My only gripe with the job is he forgot to body putty fill the gap on the low nose when it was chopped. I think I can fill it and retouchup the low nose. Enjoy. Mike

I have just realised that this gap is actualy on the real unit, if you look in this pic, which is one he used to model the engine. That gap is there from the real life low nose job done by the shops of the MKT railway prior to the Central getting the unit thru a dealer in IL. Mike
