Perhaps there's a list, or a 'sticky' somewhere for sources of stuff. Or, maybe someone can offer some places for the best kinds of parts for building. I see, e.g., quite a bit of Delton bits offered on eBay. Is this good stuff? Apparently they're no longer in business.

First there is obviously Ozark Miniatures and Trackside Details, Grandt Line, Northwest Shortline (NWSL), and Evergreen. Then there are all those plastic car and military model kits to swipe usable stuff out of. Another great source is the under table junk boxes at train shows (Don't overlook the Lionel dealers, some O stuff was WAAY oversized, and a bunch of stuff can be made work with a little creativity. There is sometimes standard gauge stuff, too.). You've already discovered evilBay, there is a guy by the name of "Larry G Scale" has LOTS of 1/2" scale detail parts, if a bit pricey. Sometimes the manufacturers will sell you a few parts as well. (If you can get to the right person). And sometimes you can simply horse trade stuff out of the scrap box with another modeller for what you need. Then there is the junky toy aisle (five and dime store type toys)

I also find a lot of usable stuff at Michael's (craft store), if your local one still carries shadowbox stuff, even better....
