So, the first 2 places are TrainLi and OnlyTrains, so you have done the basics.

Searching that Buhler number, all you get is distributors (and of course the worms are not on the motor)

What is the LGB part number. I'll ask some of my friends.

Here's the part number from an old Only Trains listing LGB Model Trains, LGB Locomotives, Garden Train Sets, G Scale Model Trains,: E161892 Buhler Motor for LGB Mikado Steam Locomotives

You might be able to pull the worm gear off the old motor and reuse it on the new motor if you're careful. I checked my Mogul and Stainz spare motors and it looks like they are pressed on, no signs of solder.

I've sent inquiries to websites like I listed looking for spare motors and received responses on whether they have it or don't. The distribution partners may steer you to someone who carries it so try calling them.

The motor uses a knuckle drive, which I can transfer to a new motor. I wonder what other devices use that particular Buhler motor. The LGB part number is E161892. Thank you for the help!

yeah, looks like E161892 is the motor alone without the knuckle drive part attached.

I'd ask TrainLi to try to order from Germany... I found some listings in Germany, but almost all say they were out.

What happened with the motor? Perhaps it could be repaired.
