I came across what I think is a new g gauge locomotive from Hielscher.  Check here:

I have seen other g gauge engines from them but have not seen this before.  It reminds me of a bagrs.  It has some perks, like butane fired but the run time could be longer.  I wish they offered a water top up system.  Anyone know how much this will go for in the states?

Ah, as Sir Topem Hat said, "a very useful engine".
Or not.

Funny, I knew I'd seen that boiler someplace.......then I walked out in my garage and saw a spare 6-volt ignition coil for my Flatheads.
Screw a brass extension on one lead, and you've got it!

It looks similar to the BAGRS project loco ala Mike Martin (www.panyo.com).
Vertical boiler
oscillating cylinder
Can't see how the wheels are driven, but the BAGRS is chain and sprocket driven.
It should make an excellent "Beginners" live steam loco.
