They take up "space" in so many ways but mostly just take up space when a reply is short and I have to "scroll" past all the poster's "personal" advertising. This is especially aggravating when I am checking the forum from work and brightly colored but mostly way too large signature lines are flashing on the screen as I scroll past them to read the next response. (sigh)

And WHAT is with the Double spaced stuff too? I cannot see any place to change that default?/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/mls/emoticons/plain.gif

well yeah..I agree there does definately need to be a size limit for the signature photos..
I dont think Shad has offically ruled on that yet..
a few people have already posted signature photos that are IMO far too large..
actually, I think my sig pic (see below) is slightly too large as it is..

I would suggest 80X80 pixels for the avatar. (thats the image in the left column under your username and post count)
I think there is already an automatic re-size in place for that.
then 100 tall by maybe 250 wide maximum for a signature image..(the image in your signature line, at the bottom of posts)

And text in the signature line, if you have text and a photo, should go to the SIDE of the signature pic, so that the entire signature "panel" is no more than 100 pixels tall, keeping it as thin as possible...I plan to fix that on mine..havent yet.

rules like that should minimize the annoyance! ;)

Attaching signatures to a post used to be optional with the author of the post; now it seems to be all or nothing.  If somebody knows how to make it optional, I'd sure like to know.
