How do we post URLs on theis new system?

That's fine. On the old system, you could click on an icon to add pictures or URLs. I guess you have to know HTML to post things on this system. This is not very user friendly.

Also, What does all of this mean? Do you need to put the URL in twice? What does "a target" mean?

KISS style....type [ URL][ /URL] without the spaces I'm showing here....then put your cursor between the two brackets (i.e. between the ] and the [)....and paste/type the URL in....

The editor that had all the buttons on it was causing problems with posting, so Shad disabled it until he can correct the operation.

In the HTML link code the target entry causes the URL link to open in a new browser window.

The double entry of the URL provides the ability to have whatever text you like represent the link.

For example if the URL address is very long and when displayed would cause the screen to be wide enough that you'd have to scroll right & left to read the text. You can shorten it to a couple of words say 'click here' for example.

While the above is true, it doesn't take into consideration the individuals on the other side of the fence, the ones trying to read what has been posted. Not everyone out there has a new 20" wide flat screen monitor, and then there are those that encounter trouble reading the rather small sized text and adjust their browsers to compensate.

So while it may be KISS on one side of the fence, it may very well be PITA on the other side.

OK...got it...you need to use the HTML if the URL is real long...OR you want to put a title in versus the URL itself. I've never had that issue though.

Yes sir...that's correct...you use to be able to do the same thing on the old software with the UBB tags...haven't tried it here to see if the filters will translate the UBB.

If you take a look at a standard URL address referencing a topic here on MLS it's 101 characters in length, and there isn't any break point where they can be wrapped at like the older ones could, which is pretty standard for today's URLs.
