Sitting here tonight watching the History Channel's show Modern Marvels: Freight Trains.  I've seen it before, but it's always fun to watch again.  It tells all about how freight trains evolved and how the new super locos are constructed.  It will be on again tonight at 2:00 am (central) and will also apparently repeat later this week.  If you haven't seen it, it's worth it.  This time around, it's sponsored by CSX!  I'm DVRing it for later viewing as well.

Just an FYI... there's a PBS program here in the Bay Area called "California's Gold." A couple of weeks ago, they had a program on the Sugar Pine Railroad up by Yosemite (originally the Madera Sugar Pine Lumber Co.). Tonight they had a show where they went to Drawbridge, CA - a small community well known to SPC fans. Yesterday they had a show where they explored the Berkeley, a San Francisco ferry which used to bring passengers, etc. from Oakland to San Francisco, and is now part of the San Diego Maritime Museum. I've set up a series recording on my DVR. Interesting show.
