Kim will be in our thoughts and prayers today. The surgery should be over by the time I am writing this, so the prayers will be for a rapid and complete recovery.
It probably won't make you feel any better today, but on the day our daughter was born[5:52AM], at 0630hrs, I got the call to go deal with a rupture of a 6in military pipeline that was spewing diesel into a creek. Nine hours later, I met and held my daughter for the first time. My mother-in-law wasn't totally understanding, and I was certainly dissappointed, but all turned out OK in the end.
