If the company goes defucnt that holds the card, then yes, you are a creditor and are in line with all the others......

Personally I've used C-notes for gift cards for many years, never had one bounce,
their good everywhere, and good for all occasions...

C Notes are good! Personally, my sister gets me a Starbucks giftcard and so far i haven't had any problems. I, on the other hand, get giftcards from Caboose Hobbies for my father and they get me the same thing! We then enjoy the day after the holiday (sometimes, as in this year, it's going to be Thanksgiving) going to Caboose Hobbies and spending our cards!!

Bob...that is the outdated data that I initially posted (or a version of it). A lot of that data is OLD...meaning it was around one or two years ago. So...."closing in January" doesn't necessarily mean much. See the Snopes link above.

Actually, here is the corrected one. Here it is with citations on About.com

http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/business/a/store_closings.htm

Sidebar, I called two hobbyshops up in the rust belt yesterday placing orders and both said business was booming, and one was looking to expand and had hired staff!

Sorry....Snopes IS a GOOD site...but it does push pop-ups. My browser is set to reject pop-ups, so I don't see what your spy bot sees...never get that far. Snopes.com, ask.com, and urbanlegends.about.com are three of the BEST sites to validate the truth about something.
