I know many of you use kyron paint; I don’t because I can’t seem to get here in Australia.

I have been clear finishing models with floquil crystal coat because according to floquil it will not yellow in UV unlike flat finish.

I don’t wont to set myself up for failure in a few years when my rolling stock starts to go yellow!

Has anyone one used crystal coat like me? How has it held up after a few years?

Thanks

In 1998 I had these two locomotives professionally painted and they still look good. The painter uses Floquil’s Crystal Coat as his top coat.

I do not leave my locomotives out after running them, and I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada which may have a more temperate climate than yours.

They look excellent!

I plan to bring all the rolling stock in after a running session, so it would seem if I don’t run outside on a stinking hot and sunny day I should be okay.

Thanks
