Got an Eggliner Motor block with four wires coming out of the block and going into one connector. Can someone tell me where to find a wiring diagram or what the four wire are connected to?

thanks

Well, I'm pretty sure that 2 are track pickups and 2 are to the motor. The parts diagrams for the Eggliner and the FA1 from Aristo are here and confirm it.

There's a photo on the Bachmann Parts site of the mtoor block, with yellow, blue, black and green wires.

Aristo used 2 connectors - you say there's only one?

I don't recall which wire is which - I'm sure someone knows. In the meantime, a simple multimeter will tell you which are the track pickups - just set the meter to Ohms, and touch one wheel, then use the other lead to find which wire is connected to that wheel. Do the same with the other side and DaDa! The other 2 must be for the motor.

Just got it from Reindeer Pass. Brown, Blue, Yellow and Turquoise in one connector. Haven't figured out how to attach a photo or else I've forgotten. Will try a multimeter.

thanks

@ErieRRFan -

For anyone who wants to use that motor block to build their own unit....
Could you measure the spacing between the wheels, ie axle to axle, and also the diameter of the wheels?

I believe it is the same as the Aristo FA motor block. Bachmann says on the parts listing "Compatable with Aristo engines". I'm sure the Aristo experts can tell you other uses for that truck.

It is the same, has been used to replace Aristo blocks in many cases.

All 2 axle Aristo diesels use the same diameter wheel.

So does it tell you somewhere what the dimensions are?
For people who don't have any Aristo locos....

I happen to have an old Aristo FA block that was intended for EBT M-1. The wheels are 1.375" (1 3/8") across the treads. The wheelbase is 3.845" or it could be 3 7/8" if you are not too fussy!
