Oh how boring a 2 axle bobber caboose looks

So I decided to do something about it and make it a 4 axle two truck car and upgrade the plastic details.
As I did with the Aristo 20 foot gondola, I did with this one. I removed the 2 side frames that held the
wheelsets and replaced them with a shortened LGB boxcar frame and a pair of USAT trucks and redid
the LGB underframe details - brake gear and I also crafted some small utility boxes to mount under the frame.
My next task was to mover the center cupola and change the window patern a bit.
This is where I'm at so far.

My next tasks are:

Reposition the smoke jack
Replace all handrails with brass ones
Add ladders and replace/modify the roof walk
Add the Ozark minitures lanterns and wire them for battery.
Do some paint trimming and maybe, just maybe
add an interior with a figure.

More pictures to follow as usual.
I do have 5 open projects going now, both WWII military models as well as the trains.

That looks good Rocky. Guess I should do mine as I have 3 of them to convert so will keep an eye on this project. Later RJD

Hmm. My old scratch-built hopper passed away, so I have a pair of trucks I'm not using.

It met the pavement.

I've thought about replacing those rubber handrails for years.
