club website help

HI,
I was at a garden railway club meeting last night and out of the blue offered to create a new website for the club. Then I remembered my total lack of free time! I have not designed a website in a while and was looking for some advice on what people like to see on a club's website. What are some features that really help "sell" a club? What features do members like to have on a website? What are some club websites that are really good - so I can steal ideas from them!...
thanks in advance,
Matt

The guys in Florida do a good job. The Florida Garden Railway Society's Home Page.
Also the The Washington, Virginia, & Maryland Garden Railway Society.
Don't know how good you would call our web site but here is the address for you to look at the Northwest Arkansas club's.
I think it looks OK. www.nwagrs.org
Take a peek at ours..

Shad is our Webmaster and I'm the Administrator..
Feel free to ask questions.
