As Charles has stated, after a period of time there seems to be a timeout associated with using the Preview button located in the lower left of the Rich-text Editor screen. Once that timeout period has expired, when you click the Preview button and the preview window displays you wind up getting the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." error displayed instead of a preview of what you've entered.

One method of resetting the timeout so you can use that preview, is to use the Refresh button on your browser toolbar.

However, prior to doing this you need to select all of what you've thus far entered using the Select All keyboard key combination {Ctrl+A}, then use the Copy keyboard key combination {Ctrl+C} to save a copy of what you've entered to your local Clipboard.

Because, when you click the Refresh button all of what you've entered will be lost when the screen is refreshed. But by saving a copy to the local clipboard you can then paste what you've done right back in.

There is however, another Preview feature available. Just above the text entry area in the Rich-text Editor, in the light-blue colored area you'll find multiple toolbars. In the uppermost one, on the far left you'll see a button that is labeled Source just to the right of that button you'll see one that has an image of a magnifying glass over a piece of paper for a label
which can be used to see what you've entered will look like. It isn't exactly the same but it will give you a good idea what it will look like.

So if you don't want to reset the other preview's timeout you can use the above preview to see what you've entered. And even though you haven't reset the timeout when you click the Submit button it should still post your new topic or reply without error.

However, since I can only speak to the browser and operating system that I use, and others have reported loosing what they've entered. I would suggest that you use the copy to the local clipboard routine to hedge your bet until you see just exactly how you particular system reacts.

I tried to insert images from my MLS web page but, when I tried to do 4 in a row, I got one of those nasty X images implying it couldn't find the image.

Not sure how you go about getting the URL address for the images. But I usually find it easiest to have two instances of the browser open one my MLS 1st Class web space in it, and the other instance with the Rich-text Editor in it.

That way I can switch to the one with web space locate the image I wish to post and click on it, once it displays in the browser I then click in the Address field which selects all the text of the images URL. Including any encoding like changing space characters in my file name to the required %20 encoding that I usually forget to do. Use the {Ctrl+C} keyboard key combination to copy the URL text.

Then I switch windows to the one with the Rich-text Editor, click the Insert/Edit Image button, and and use the {Ctrl+V} keyboard key combination to paste the URL into the field on the dialog and finally click the OK button. To keep adding additional images I just repeat the process until I'm done.
