Interesting looking but they were a rather failed experiment. I understand they were high maintenance and difficult to keep running.

Cool reading and photos. Thanks for posting. 106 feet long, wow. I guess getting a scale version around a 5 ft curve is an unreal idea!

There were several similar experiments in out-of-the-box steam loco design. The UK had the 36001 "Leader" class designed by Bullied:
