As a newby, any information on Diamondhead, [sp?] Spent a week there one night, about 10 yrs ago, coal fired generating plant close by.

Trying to buy a 0-4-0 "G" or something close, understand this is a good place to look, touch, feel, learn.

What is the Date. Where, a Websight? etc..

Thanks, & thanks to all that responded to my Ruby vs Sammy, question, & thanks for the lead on the Sammy in Canada.

Bill,
One of the largest contingents at Diamondhead is always the Houston Group. Check out the Houston Live Steamers (HALS), Houston Area G Guagers (HAGG) or check in with Papa Bens off kirby or Mike's in Porter for contacts. John Frank is involved in all of them and will make sure you will have all the info you need.

Going to Diamondhead is like jumping in the water head first. I highly reccomend it! You will see just about every type of steam engine that you can imagine (and some you couldn't in a million years). There will also be vendors who have engines for sale and also the swap table, where you could possibly get a deal on a decent, well cared for engine.

HALS is my 1st desire, after a couple of trips though my lack of desire for the drive tempered my desire to get involved.
HAGG I have sent them the $$'s, have not heard. Guess they will accept me.
MIKES, Mike Eberly has been a friend for 30 yrs. He has picked a few bucks out of my tree, LBG, & Aristo Craft, nothing serious though.
Mikes made a lot more from us as a plumber. We live in Kingwood area, [Porter}
Chief Financial officer wants to go see friends in Fla. in Jan. am trying to wrap Diamondhead around that program.

Thanks much for the advise.
