I got both these a few years back with the best of intentions, but life got in the way. Now I am back to start trying to mess with them. What is the minimum and then the realistic diameter I should be looking at setting up track. I will have an indoor area above the garage which give me a 12 wide by 16, but I can cut an opening in the walls on both sides to go through part of the attic which I could make into some neat tunnels (I would box off and insulate but allow access just in case of problem). That would give me a little more width and/or allow me to run some switches for multiple lines, etc. I am also considering an elevating circle to get multiple levels. Opinions, etc. welcome. Thanks

RE: Bachmann Shay & Climax

They will both go around 4' dia. curves...but make the curves as wide as you can....they will just look better on wider curves..... :) :)

RE: Bachmann Shay & Climax

4' is fine with only a couple of minor issues. On the Shay and if you are using the Bachmann supplied chuff triggers for a sound system, the chuffs CAN become badly timed in sharp right hand turns. This happens if the front drive shaft is inserted wrong by 90 degrees. On the Climax, if you are using chuff magnets on the rear universal joint, chuffs can be missed in tight turns in either direction if the reed switch is not close enough to the magnets.
