Yeah, well, I just emailed them if they were going to make one.

Although, the Revolution does not support any lighting other than the 2 headlights, there are function outputs, that should be able to drive the bachmann "logic level" controls for smoke, and lights...

So an adapter board could be made to map the available function output from the Revolution to certain pins of the bachmann, even the chuff input...

Just to clarify any misconception. The functions in the Dash-9 (as well as all the rest of the Bachmann locomotives with the socket) as not "logic Level " functions.

They are normal functions designed for the 100MA and below range. The + side is full rectified input voltage (battery or Track) that the device in the socket provides on the + outpin and the - side is ground (also supplied by the device in the socket.) For example the function output for the smoke unit is a low current to ground function which turns on a power transistor which powers the smoke unit which uses power from the locomotives + and -

Most of the funtions are just a couuple of leds which ae protected by resistors. The safety lights are 8 leds protected by resistors so the current load is low but not logic level.

Hope that helps clarify things.

Right the lights are not logic level, they just need grounding, and pull the current of the LED.

The smoke unit is similar but with a transistor to offload what must about a 1-1.5 amp load.... We have not seen the insides yet so no clue if the design is different... but the way it is advertised is the same way the Aristo unit was.

Once you get your hands on a Dash-9, I think you will be pleased with the electronics used for the smoke unit. The electronics for the Aristo unit were inside the smoke unit itself, The dash 9 smoke unit electronics are different and outside of the actual smoke unit. You also might be pleased with the 3 wires being used to control the smoke unit.

I'm already pleased Stan, to give the unvarnished truth, the Aristo electronics were flawed (design) and also components failed often from the smoke fluid destroying them.

The basic unit mechanically was just fine, which is apparently what Bachmann has retained.

Great stride forwards. Do you have any info on how the system detects out of fluid condition?
