Hi, Can somebody please tell me how to place an Avitar next to my Forum name like some of the other guys here /DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/mls/emoticons/blush.gif

Click on "My Profile" (gray bar on the right)
Click on "Edit Profile" (about half way down the page)
Towards the bottom of the page will be an entry for an Avatar Link, enter in the URL for some picture.

nope just checked it /DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/mls/emoticons/angry.gif are you sure/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/mls/emoticons/crazy.gif

What are you putting in for the Avatar Link?  Does the URL begin with http://

or did you do the upload avatar?

did you click update profile after?

I just tried it and it worked for me.  The image can't be bigger than 80x80 pixels.
