Hi,

I'm currently building the Dutch version of this lovely engine.
The manuals don't provide any information about the decals. I was not impressed with the quality of the waterslides I applied to the buffer beams.

Now I've read this post I'm sure they need "some heat" to adhere properly.
Can somebody provide more details about this process?

I've combined all harvested information about these decals. The additional items printed on the sheets (i.e. the numbers and allignment markings) are perfect test items to research a succesful procedure.

I've aplied these waterslides by soaking them ~45 seconds in water without using any additional setting solutions.
They don't stick as well as traditional decals. Extra care must be taken not to shift them when whiping them dry. The additional transparent coating is clearly visible. Cut the decals to size so this coating does not interfere.
I left the decorated items to dry for half an hour.

Preheat a convection oven to 140°C and bake on the decals for half an hour.
After cooling down the colors are burned in to the paint and the thin top coating can be peeled off.
The results are stunning! (Pictures to be added soon)

Met vriendelijke groet, Rob
