Just wondering if anyone here lives in Tucson or the surrounding areas (that doesn't mean Phoenix)...
Love Phoenix BTW, it's just anyone who refers to Arizona thinks Phoenix is the only thing - and it's 100 miles away! They do have the only good hobby shopping in the whole state.

Tucson, who's population just hit 1,000,000, has only one hobby shop, It's in an Ace Hardware, trains are almost an afterthought, and they charge full retail! I think I'm the only poor model railroader in Tucson, because I'm the only one who seems to mind!

Looking for activities shows and/or clubs in Tucson to do something besides watching the paint fade on my car since I kicked it out of the garage for my layout!

There are a bunch of people in Tucson. Garden Railways Mag just did a feature on Eagle Mountian RR. That is in Tucson.
There is a Ace ( I think it's ace) that has G scale trains. I think there was a display at the Botanical Gardens with a G scale train.
Hope you find Train buddies soon.

The DOUBLE K RANCH is a bed and breakfast that has a Garden RR

3930 N Smokey Topaz Lane Start there they may be able to help you find more friends.

I remember seeing Gary and Peggy's Eagle Mountain when they has a meet a couple of years ago - incredible!!! I have to find out how to join the club they said they're in. I have to try to remember the name of the club!

As far as ACE, you have to be rich! They charge full retail for everything. They told me something like "but you save in shipping". I live in the southern suburb, and it costs me $15.00 in gas to get there I tell them. Mail order is cheaper, and for big shopping days, Phoenix is cheaper!

Sorry, had to rant, but thanks for the tip, and for jogging my memory of an incredible layout visit!

I loved this mine!
