I knew there was movement to have this locomotive restored to operating condition. Hope it stays that way. After seeing C&S #71 running then stuffed again, and #9 running and stuffed again makes me wonder. Maybe D&RGW locomotives have more luck?
I know former RGS/C&S/C&NW #74 was evaluated but deemed to broken to be functionally restored (broken frame I believe). I am not sure where the status of former RGS/F&CC #20 is. I believe it is still being worked on at the Museum.
I have also heard that a group has been looking at poor old C&S #60 that has sat at Idaho Springs for decades.
