I want to build a model of the Union Pacific M-10000 but the only trucks that i have ever seen that would be suitable for the model are the ones that are found on the LGB Amfleet cars.

The picture is tiny but it was the best i ould find. They have inside frame trucks with leaf springs in the middle which is what i am looking for.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to come up with 3 or 4 of these trucks?

Thanks

Scott,

This may or may not be of any help, but I have a couple suggestions.

First, if you model the M-1000 as delivered, you can hang skirts on the trucks, and get away with almost anything under there.
Second, scratchbuilding a truck isn't that difficult, especially something like an inside frame truck where there's very little to be seen. Styrene works quite well, though I'd suggest using brass bearings (I make mine from brass K&S tubing).

Thanks for the helps guys. I think i will end up scratch building them. I got to see some of the amfleet cars up close today and they aren't quite what i'm looking for anyways. I never liked the skirts and i think they were removed shortly after the train was put into service.
Thanks again
Scott
