Shad,
Earlier today I did my usual check to see what was new. Well, there was a brand new member, made six posts at the time I saw him, and all of his posts we rather ignorant, raciest, or just obscene. I used the alert button on the first post I found and started heading for the rest. I was surprised to find that many of the other posts were already deleted, then he was deleted.
I just want to say that not only does it seem the alert buttons work, but that you and your moderators keep up on this and take care of the problem very quickly. I was very impressed how quickly the problem was taken care of! Thanks to all for keeping this site 'G' rated for everyone to enjoy./DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/mls/emoticons/tongue.gif
No, thanks to all that alerted us so quickly of the problem. We identified the member quickly and disabled his account. The moderator alerts are another one of the new features that help us mangange things more efficiently..
To be honest, I check on here about every 2 hours or so...when I get frustrated in the shop mostly. I hadn't even noticed that we had a spammer onboard. Great job on getting rid of him Shad & Co.! Another reason why I am glad that this site was humbly started all those years ago. My hat is off to you...hey, where'd my hat go?!?!! /DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/mls/emoticons/shocked.gif
I get up at 5:30-6:00 AM. The first thing I do in the morning is grab my coffee and computer and check my email, then MLS. I'm on Pacific Time, and by the time I got here to take a look at what was going on (after receiving several email alerts), all the posts were already deleted. Kudos to the mod who took care of it!
Thanks for pointing out the "Alert Button". It took me a while to find it, and know I have a vague idea of how to use it. For those of you who are need help like me it is on the far right side of the date/time line at the top of the entry. Without this discussion I wouldn't have known what it is and what to do with it.
