Looking through the book "The Heisler locomotive", it shows some with rods out of sync. The usual source for this as near as I can find out is when maintenance or a derailment, was done and the shafts to the trucks disconnected. The shop crew did not always get the trucks all lined up again.

Well, its offiicial! We have final pricing and an actual sku number from Accucraft. It looks like this Heisler may actually happen. This is fantastic news and, if I may say so, one of the last great legacies that Charlie Chen left behind. I personally, have been waiting for this for more than a decade. I have mine on order. The WSL Co #3 Heisler is a narrow gauge icon and fortunately still steams today. Click below for the official announcement posted on the Accucraft website as of today.
