Crazy how fast time can flyby. Today is a bittersweet anniversary for me. One year ago today, my family and I broke ground on our new house. I was excited to get off work and see the hole that was dug on our land. Later in the day I received a phone call that our dear friend and fellow modeler Dirk had passed away.
Dirk was a great friend. Even though we never met in person it was like we had been friends for longer than we were. We emailed, texted, and/or talked on the phone pretty much every day. Dreamed about trains, what we can to model, things that would be cool to model, politics, faith, and more.
Dirk started a group email that involved some members from this forum. From that I became friends with more MLS members. I'm glad that the rest of us still email each other.
